Play Based Curriculum

Children learn individually and also from playing alongside others, children and/or adults, through play.

At Turtles we offer our children a play based curriculum to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Supporting all aspects of their learning and development it encourages their natural curiosity. This helps them to learn about the world around them and discover that learning can be interesting and fun. This is paramount if children are going to eager learners, developing and constantly extending their knowledge.

Play in a safe environment with appropriate support from a key carer will enable and encourage children to explore, investigate and enjoy each learning experience. We help them to practice and develop skills, concepts and ideas, without fear of failure.

"The nursery school is an extension of the function of the home, not a substitute for it; but experience has shown that it brings to the child such a great variety of benefits."
(Isaacs 1954)
